- Visitor Industry Gives-Back to Maui’s Future Industry Leaders –
WAILUKU, MAUI, HAWAII (June 28, 2022) – The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association’s 25th Annual “Excellence in Education presented by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits” golf tournament took place on Friday, June 24 at the Ka’anapali Golf Courses. The sold-out event raised $40,000 to support youth scholarships.
While the top teams took home some great prizes, the real winners of the event are Maui’s youth. The popular visitor industry event celebrated 25 years of giving back to Maui’s future business leaders by raising significant scholarship funding for the following programs:
“The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association is committed to giving back to the community and one of those ways is by providing scholarship opportunities to Maui County’s future business leaders,” says Lisa Paulson, Executive Director for the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association. “We are thrilled that we are able to raise much-needed scholarship funds to invest in our youth.”

Maui County Charity Walk, August 20
The Charity Walk is one of the largest fundraising events in Hawaii. Since the Maui Hotel &
Lodging Association started hosting the event in 1980, Maui County has raised a cumulative
total of $15.4 million, benefitting hundreds of non-profit organizations on Maui, Molokaʻi, and
Lānaʻi. Most importantly, all the funds raised on Maui remain in Maui County to benefit the
local community and its residents.
