Honoring Mauiʻs Kupuna

Our Kupuna Appreciation event began in December 2020 as an alternative to the much anticipated Kupuna Dinner. The annual dinner event showered 400 of Mauiʻs kupuna with holiday gifts, festive entertainment, and a delicious holiday meal provided by Maui Hotel & Lodging Association members. When the world shut down and we could not gather or connect with loved ones, it was critical that MHLA found a way to continue honoring the Kupuna of Maui.

With the tremendous support of our members and the amazing partnership with Meals on Wheels and the County of Maui, we found a way to proceed with our holiday tradition. MHLAʻs Kupuna Appreciation was developed, delivering hot holiday meals and gifts to the doorsteps of over 500 of Mauiʻs truly homebound senior citizens.
