The 2025 Chair, Selawe Tau, is the Hotel Manager at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka’anapali, where he champions local talent development and elevates guest experiences to new heights. With over two decades in the hospitality industry, his leadership earned the resort the prestigious Marriott International Western Region Talent Leadership Award for Distinctive Premium hotels in 2022.

A proud former student body president at Hawaii Pacific University, Selawe was pivotal in supporting his community following the 2023 Lahaina Wildfire. He established donation hubs and organized Aloha Friday events to uplift displaced community members. His commitment to wellness and environmental stewardship shines through his active involvement in wellness initiatives and quarterly beach clean-ups.

In recognition of his dedication to the community, his team was awarded the Hawaii Visitor Industry Charity Walk Silver Slipper Award in 2022 for significant contributions to Hawaii charities. Selawe is excited to pass on this honor as the Chair of this year’s Maui Charity Walk!

In his personal life, Selawe and his wife are devoted supporters of their two daughters, who excel in paddling and karate. His passion for health and well-being extends to running marathons, staying active, and inspiring others to embrace wellness.
