MAUI HOTEL & LODGING ASSOCIATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS
TO MCC STUDENTS
WAILUKU, MAUI The Maui
Hotel & Lodging Association recently awarded scholarships to six UH Maui
College Spring Semester students from proceeds of the annual EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION
Golf Tournament held last Fall. Four
students from the Maui
Culinary Academy
received $500 and two Business & Hospitality students received $1,000
scholarships. Students were recognized
as outstanding achievers by their department coordinators.

ACADEMY OF HOSPITALITY & TOURISM GRADUATION & SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTATION
WAILUKU, MAUI In a special luncheon prepared by the Maui Culinary Academy to honor graduating students in the Academy of Hospitality & Tourism (AOHT) program recently, the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association recognized 90 graduating seniors and presented a total of $9,000 in scholarships to 9 recipients who have successfully completed the two-year curricula designed for students interested in pursuing careers in the visitor industry.

32nd ANNUAL VISITOR INDUSTRY CHARITY WALK RAISES $344,149
WAILUKU, MAUI The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association recently celebrated 32 years of giving back to the community with its annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk on Saturday, May 15. Over 1,800 walkers gathered at the War Memorial Soccer Field for a fun morning of exercise, camaraderie, good food, great prizes and fabulous entertainment. At the end of the day, an impressive total of $344,149 was raised for to benefit MauiCounty charities. (Last year, the event raised $312,000).

MOLOKA'I VISITOR INDUSTRY CHARITY WALK RAISES $5,000
KAUNAKAKAI, MOLOKA'I Over 70 Moloka'i residents gathered for their own Visitor Industry Charity Walk at 7am on Saturday, May 8. The event, sponsored by the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association, was the kick off to the 32nd Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk - a fundraiser that will take place simultaneously on Maui, Oahu, Kauai and the Big Island. The statewide event is slated for this weekend, Saturday, May 15, and heralds as one of Hawaii's largest single-day fundraiser, drawing thousands of walkers and typically raising over $1 million annually to benefit local charities.

32nd ANNUAL VISITOR INDUSTRY CHARITY WALK FINAL TALLY IN AT $357,673
WAILUKU, MAUI The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association announced earlier today that the final tally for the 32ndAnnual Visitor Industry Charity walk on Maui totaled an impressive $357,673. Held earlier this year in May, the event drew over 1,200 walkers and it was preliminarily reported to have raised $344,149. Since May, funds have continued to be collected culminating with todays grand total announcement.
